Self-repair refers to the behavior where interpreters spontaneously modify and correct their already delivered translations within the same round of speech. It demonstrates interpreters' pursuit of translation accuracy and expression fluency, but it may also affect the fluency of the translation and the comprehension of the audience to a certain extent. Meanwhile, as an important bridge for cross-language communication, consecutive interpretation from Chinese to English (C-E CI) is particularly significant in practical applications due to its immediacy and on-site nature. In C-E CI, student interpreters may have to self-repair during the translation process due to factors such as competition pressure, misunderstandings in language comprehension, errors in vocabulary selection, and grammatical mistakes. This study focuses on the top 10 finalists of the 12th National Interpretation Contest, transcribes the recordings of 30 contestants, analyzes in detail the self-correction phenomenon displayed by student interpreters in C-E CI, and explores the reasons behind it and its possible impacts. The aim is to provide valuable reference and inspiration for improving the quality of C-E interpretation, thereby assisting student interpreters in better coping with the challenges of interpretation in high-pressure environments. %K 口译大赛, %K 汉英交传, %K 自我修正, %K 学生译员
