The value orientation of core literacy in English subject is reflected in cultural awareness. This article outlines the core position of cultural awareness in English teaching, emphasizing its importance for students’ cross-cultural communication skills. Based on the author’s internship experience, it focuses on the cultivation strategies of cultural awareness in high school English reading teaching, and explores the problems existing in the current cultivation of cultural awareness. Taking Unit 1 Reading and Thinking as a case study in New People’s Education Edition, this paper analyzes the cultural elements in discourse and proposes teaching strategies that combine text content, such as cultural background introduction, comparative cultural analysis, situational simulation, and critical thinking training. Through practical teaching cases, this article verifies the effectiveness of these strategies and provides practical guidance for high school English teachers. %K 高中英语, %K 阅读教学, %K 文化意识, %K 新人教版
