This study, grounded in Appraisal Theory, examines attitudinal resources in the cultural content texts of the FLTRP High School English Textbook (Compulsory 1~3) through annotation, coding, and analysis, while also exploring the emotions and attitudes within these texts in context. The findings indicate that the cultural content texts extensively employ diverse attitudinal resources, with affective and appreciation resources predominating. Positive attitudinal resources are more prevalent, while certain negative resources are used to complement the positive ones, thus conveying appropriate values. Based on these findings, it is suggested that English teachers should guide students to pay attention to the use of evaluative vocabulary in the teaching process, and understand the attitude conveyed by it in combination with cultural background, so as to cultivate students’ cultural awareness and guide them to form a correct outlook on world, life and values. In addition, in view of the repeated use of evaluative vocabulary in some texts, it is suggested that textbook authors enrich the vocabulary expression of attitudinal resources, so as to provide more diverse language learning resources and improve students’ critical reading and intercultural communication competence. %K 评价理论, %K 英语教材, %K 文化语篇, %K 态度资源
