This paper aims to explore John Stuart Mill’s utilitarianism theory and analyze the influence on the concept of happiness from the perspective of Mill’s utilitarianism. Mill’s utilitarianism emphasizes maximizing happiness as the moral criterion for actions. Starting from the basic principles of Mill’s utilitarianism, this paper will discuss its understanding of individual and social happiness.
