%X In two letters written to the famous musician Cipriano de Rore, Giovanni Battista Benedetti discussed topics related to musical theory. The letters were published in the <i>Diversarum</i> <i>speculationum</i> <i>mathematicarum</i><i> et </i><i>physicarum</i><i> liber</i> of 1585. Despite their great relevance, though, no modern translation of the letters from the original Latin into a contemporary language in full has been attempted. This paper intends to fill this gap by presenting a semidiplomatic transcription and a faithful translation into English.
