Through literature review and field research, this study systematically reviews the definition, characteristics, and application of process assessment in com-pulsory university courses. The study found that process assessment can promote student engagement and learning motivation, help comprehensively assess students¡¯ learning situations, and improve teaching quality. However, there are also some issues in practical application, such as unclear assess-ment criteria and untimely feedback.
