The universe is said to be in a state of stagnation, and the human body is believed to possess five internal organs that are sensitive to this phenomenon. Stagnation, or the accumulation of qi, is thought to result in five distinct types of stagnation. It is widely recognized that many diseases are associated with stagnation; however, therapeutic approaches can vary significantly. Infertility, a common ailment affecting the female reproductive system, has garnered considerable attention in clinical practice. The advent of modern society has led to an increasing focus on infertility among older women. In traditional Chinese medicine, the etiology of this condition is attributed to renal insufficiency and an imbalance of qi and blood within the Chong and Ren meridians. This article aims to address infertility in elderly women based on the theory of the five types of stagnation as described in the “Inner Classic” release the stagnation of wood, break the stagnation of water, and take the stagnation of earth. the characteristics of the five elements and the corresponding internal organs, appropriate methods are employed to regulate the movement of qi, ensuring that each internal organ functions optimally.
