This study aims to explore a method of utilizing Augmented Reality (AR) interactive technology and camera recognition technology, combined with database comparison, to customize personalized interactive IPs to effectively reduce people’s appearance anxiety. With the prevalence of social media and the diversification of aesthetic standards, the issue of appearance anxiety has become increasingly prominent, negatively impacting individuals’ mental health and quality of life. This study offers a novel solution through innovative technological means. Through empirical research, we have found that users who utilize customized IPs demonstrate a significant reduction in appearance anxiety. This result indicates the potential application value of combining AR interactive technology with camera recognition technology in alleviating appearance anxiety. Furthermore, the interactivity of customized IPs enhances users’ sense of participation and belonging, contributing to improved self-satisfaction and self-confidence. In summary, this study proposes an innovative and effective method for reducing appearance anxiety, providing new technological approaches and ideas for the field of mental health. In the future, we will continue to explore and refine this method, with the aim of applying and promoting it in a wider range of areas.
