Yu Guangzhong is an outstanding poet and prose writer in the Chinese literary world. He is particularly adept at using rhythm and meter in his writings, and he created for the first time a large number of superimposed forms that suit scenes, objects and emotions, fully demonstrating the emotions of the subject. His prose makes full use of the beauty of the Chinese characters’ double-voiced superimposed rhymes, and he has revolutionised the language by incorporating ancient poetry into the text, not only giving new life to ancient poetry, but also greatly enriching the vocabulary, opening up the lexical realm and expanding the expressive function of superimposed words. This article takes Yu Guangzhong’s essay collection The Long Road We Walk Slowly as an object to explore the art of alliterative rhetoric in Yu Guangzhong’s prose, to summarise the individual characteristics of his rhetoric of alliteration, and to seek a correlation between the content of the text and its rhetorical effect, so as to better study the work and appreciate the writer’s linguistic charm. From the perspective of form and content, the use of alliteration is densely distributed throughout the book, with a variety of forms and a wealth of objects described; from the perspective of rhetorical effect, the use of alliteration not only enhances the beauty and vividness of the language, expressing natural and genuine subjective emotions, but also highlights the author’s spiritual, poetic and colloquial style of language. %K 余光中, %K 散文, %K 《长长的路 我们慢慢走》, %K 叠音修辞
