Listening comprehension is an important skill in high school English teaching. Teachers need to have a thorough understanding of the cognitive mechanisms of listening comprehension in order to help high school students overcome the difficulties they encounter in listening. By reviewing the main developmental trajectory of research on the cognitive mechanisms of listening comprehension, the perception, phasing, and utilization stages of the mechanism provide important teaching insights for teachers to use cognitive laws to comprehensively guide teaching activities and help promote students’ listening comprehension skills. %K 听力理解, %K 认知机制, %K 听力教学
