With the progress of society and the influence of the globalized economy, traditional Chinese food culture faces unprecedented challenges during the process of modernization. The rise of fast food culture and foreign dietary habits has altered people’s eating patterns. Chinese traditional food culture, with its rich history spanning thousands of years, is an important component of Chinese culture, encompassing unique cultural connotations, dietary philosophies, and eating customs. This paper delves into specific aspects of traditional Chinese food culture, analyzing the characteristics of the eight culinary traditions, regional dietary customs, and dietary philosophies, and explores their modern value and development paths through case studies. The core issue addressed in this paper is how to innovate while preserving the essence of these traditions, ensuring their inheritance and promotion in the context of globalization.
