From the edge to the center, the body has gone through the course of thousands of years in philosophy. It is hard to imagine that the concept of the body, which is highly valued in modern and contemporary philosophy, was once suppressed by the soul. From Plato to Descartes, the dualistic pattern became a curse hanging over Western philosophy. Kant tried to save the body but failed. It was not until Marx truly liberated the body, forming the whole historical context of the body’s liberation. This paper is divided into three parts, the first is the history of the body suppression, the second is the review of Kant’s attempt to focus on the body, the third is Marx to break through the dual pattern of body and mind and restore the body subjectivity.
