“Equality” is one of the important contents of the socialist core values proposed at the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China at the social level, and it is also an essential requirement of socialism. As a long-standing core issue in Chinese history, “equality” has always been an important theme in Chinese thought and culture. Although the Confucian concept of equality and the socialist core values have different historical backgrounds and theoretical foundations, both emphasize the importance of human intrinsic value and equal development. Confucianism promotes social harmony and equality among individuals through the popularization of education, moral cultivation, and the philosophical concept of the unity of heaven and man; the core socialist values are based on Marxist theory and are committed to eliminating class differences and jointly owning the means of production, in order to achieve comprehensive equality at the economic, political, and cultural levels. The Confucian concept of equality provides a profound cultural foundation and theoretical support for the formation and development of the concept of equality in the socialist core values, and also promotes the integration of traditional culture and modern values, playing an important guiding role in building a more fair and just society. %K 儒家平等思想, %K 社会主义核心价值观, %K 平等思想
