The approaches to translation studies are increasingly diversified and systematized, with interdisciplinary research emerging as a new trend. The new book “Chinese Discourse ‘Going Global’: Translation and Dissemination Studies” by Gao Bin, a distinguished professor at the School of Foreign Languages, Yangzhou University, integrates translation studies and communication studies, offering a fresh perspective, methodology, and research materials for promoting the “going global” strategy of Chinese discourse. The book reviews the evolution of the “going global” policy as a national development strategy, explains China’s subject-oriented, audience-conscious, and methodological approach to foreign communication, and proposes pathways and methods for optimizing the dissemination of the Chinese discourse system. The book provides valuable insights for the development of translation studies. It offers a unique perspective, comprehensive analysis, and diverse subjects, contributing to interdisciplinary translation research and offering solutions to the innovation of translation research methodology.
