This research focuses on the application of discourse analysis theory in high school English reading-writing teaching. Taking the Reading for Writing part of the first unit of Compulsory 1 of People’s Education Press High School English as an example, it deeply explores reading-writing teaching strategies. By analyzing the theme, structure, and language features of the discourse, it expounds how to implement reading-writing teaching strategies based on discourse analysis before, during, and after teaching, including discourse content understanding, discourse deconstruction, language analysis, writing task design, and evaluation, aiming to improve students’ reading-writing abilities and comprehensive language literacy.
