With the intensification of global population aging, China has entered an aging society. To address aging from the perspective of active aging, it is necessary to explore effective methods to promote social participation among the elderly and seek effective paths for practicing new models of old-age care. This study found that current community-based old-age care faces issues such as insufficient human resources, funding shortages, and a narrow scope of applicable populations. Meanwhile, elderly individuals have strong service capabilities in household activities and visits with family and friends, but their needs for online activities and leisure activities remain unsatisfied. Based on this, this study proposes suggestions for the practical path of the community-based mutual support model of old-age care, including improving pricing mechanisms and policy support, strengthening the recruitment and training of human resources, broadening funding channels, enriching service content and expanding the applicable population, and leveraging the elderly’s own conditions to provide services. By implementing these suggestions, we can promote social participation among the elderly, advance the practice of the mutual support model of old-age care in communities, and provide more comprehensive and effective old-age care services for aging societies. %K 社区养老, %K 互助型养老模式, %K 老年人社会参与
