Hawaii is a historical novel by the renowned American author James A. Michener, depicting the early pioneering journey of the Hakka people in Hawaii. The Chinese translation by Mr. Lu Peiwen, published in 1987, provides a complete and detailed representation of the original work’s spirit and style, making it an important document for the study of overseas Chinese communities. This study employs Pageaux’s theory of Imagology and its proposed internal textual research methods to deeply analyze the image of the overseas Hakka people in the translated work from three dimensions: vocabulary, hierarchical relationships, and plot. It holds significant research value and cultural significance for exploring the construction of China’s overseas cultural image and the integration of multiculturalism. %K 《夏威夷》, %K 形象学, %K 海外客家形象
