This paper explores the portrayal of women in Malala Yousafzai’s autobiography I Am Malala from the perspective of ecological translation studies. By analyzing the challenges and potential solutions in translation, the aim is to reveal how this image can be shaped and conveyed in cross-cultural communication. Malala emerges as a representation of women through her unwavering beliefs, courage, and pursuit of educational equality. However, cultural differences and linguistic issues pose challenges in the translation process. To address these issues, translators need to adapt to the ecological context of Pakistani literature and make appropriate choices in language, culture, and communication, using three-dimensional adaptation strategies, in order to better convey and highlight this new female image of Malala. This study hopes to provide insights into translation practices from the perspective of ecological translation studies and promote sustainable development of cross-cultural communication and understanding.
