This study aims to explore the mental health status of community correction personnel, providing data support for optimizing corrective interventions. Method: A questionnaire survey was conducted using the Symptom Checklist-90 (SCL-90) among 421 community correction personnel from a specific judicial office, including both individuals in correction and those released. Data analysis utilized independent sample t-tests and one-way ANOVA to compare differences in mental health across various variables. Results indicate that the mental health status during the release phase is comparable to that during the correction phase, yet certain psychological symptoms (such as obsession, depression, and psychoticism) are significantly higher than the national norms. Comparisons of mental health across age groups reveal that older adults in community correction demonstrate higher scores in various psychological symptom dimensions, suggesting that this group faces greater psychological stress. Additionally, females scored significantly higher than males in dimensions such as somatization, depression, and anxiety, indicating a potentially greater risk in the mental health of female community correction members. While most dimensions show mild symptoms among community correction personnel, there is a notably high proportion of severe symptoms in somatization and depression, suggesting a need for enhanced psychological counseling targeting these issues.
