While Chinese and Japanese kanji words share many commonalities, they also exhibit certain differences in meaning, form, and pronunciation. Identifying corresponding points within these differences through comparative analysis, summarizing patterns, and exploring effective learning methods hold significant practical guidance for linguists, educators, and learners in both China and Japan. This paper, from a Sino-Japanese comparative perspective, examines memorization strategies for the pronunciation of Japanese kanji words, specifically summarizing methods for memorizing on’yomi and kun’yomi.
