Under the advocacy of national policies, the people-oriented concept is implemented in all walks of life in the whole society. It is of great significance to explore how the ancients’ behaviors map and influence the construction process of the landscape space of the Humble Administrator’s Garden for the development of the current landscape design industry. This paper makes an in-depth exploration of the landscape space construction of the Humble Administrator’s Garden through the combination of historical and literature research, spatial analysis, ancient behavior elements and knowledge rules. The study found that the landscape space construction of the Humble Administrator’s Garden is closely related to the living life, recreation behavior, social activities and cultural activities of the ancients. The design and layout of the garden not only meet the actual needs of the ancients, but also reflect their aesthetic concepts and cultural traditions. The construction of the landscape space of the Humble Administrator’s Garden is the product of the combination of the ancients’ behavior and the natural environment, which reflects the ancients’ pursuit of harmony, nature and art. Through in-depth study of the relationship between ancient people’s behavior and garden space, it has important reference value for the design of current landscape architecture.
