As the last legal code of the Northern Dynasties, the “Northern Qi Law” has innovated in various aspects such as code format, chapter structure, and legal content, making it the highest legislative achievement during the Three Kingdoms, Two Jin, and Southern and Northern Dynasties periods. It not only summarized the experience of previous legal codes but also innovated and made breakthroughs based on the actual situation during the Northern Qi period, exerting a profound impact on the development of ancient Chinese legal system. This article will conduct an in-depth analysis of the legislative background and ideological content of the “Northern Qi Law”, aiming to reveal its innovative aspects and profound impact on the legal system of later generations.
