This article reviews the research progress of probiotics, including their definition, classification, mechanisms of action, and the impact of pet food processing methods on probiotics. Additionally, this article provides a detailed analysis of the current status of probiotics application in pet food processing. The purpose of this review is to provide scientific basis and technical references for the use of probiotics in the pet food industry.
