Imagery refers to the specific emotions and meanings of things through the connection of a certain cultural background. Imagery is often used in Chinese literary works and is particularly prominent in the literary form of ancient poetry. This article analyzes the use of five cultural symbols—red bean, moon, wild goose, flowing water, and climbing high in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, with the aim of helping learners better understand the cultural connotations of these symbols. For each symbol, the article presents specific teaching analysis strategies, including background knowledge explanation, poetry appreciation, organization of cultural activities, contrast analysis, and interactive discussion. Through these strategies, students can understand the symbols and deeply appreciate the emotional expression and cultural background of ancient Chinese poetry. %K 意象, %K 古诗, %K 思念, %K 对外汉语
