Due to cultural influence, sexual topics are often avoided in China, leading to a lack of sexual knowledge among teenagers. Peer counselors can provide more accessible support and education as peers. The article focuses on college students and analyzes the current situation of high demand for sexual knowledge and lack of knowledge. It proposes methods for selecting, training, and assessing peer counselors, and discusses the challenges in the implementation process, such as shame and insufficient teacher resources. The article emphasizes the importance of strengthening sexual mental health education and peer counseling systems.
