The film Mr. Nobody constructs multidimensional time and space through the way of memory and imagination, and shows people’s free choice and the meaning of life through the combination of multiple time and space. The themes discussed in the film, such as individual existence and free choice, are closely connected with Sartre’s existentialism philosophy, which has aroused people’s deep resonance and reflection. Based on Sartre’s existentialism theory, this paper makes an in-depth interpretation of Sartre’s existentialism philosophical issues such as individual free choice and life value embodied in Mr. Nobody, analyzes the film’s narrative techniques and characterization, and explores what the director really wants to express to the world beyond the artistic creation of the film.
