This paper aims to review the application of problem-based learning (PBL) as a teaching method in medical imaging education, and explore its advantages, challenges, and future development trends. PBL demonstrates significant benefits in enhancing students’ enthusiasm for learning, fostering autonomous learning skills, promoting teamwork abilities, and cultivating clinical thinking capabilities. However, there are also implementation challenges associated with this approach.
