The curriculum ideological and political education in professional courses is an important guarantee for achieving the fundamental task of “cultivating people by virtue” in higher education. Taking paleontology and historical geology as an example, in the context of comprehensive ideological and political education in the course, this article reforms the teaching content, explores the excavation and integration of ideological and political elements in the course, integrates vocational responsibility, geological craftsmanship spirit, patriotism, dialectical materialism, and other ideological and political elements into the course teaching design and actual classroom teaching, and focuses on guiding students to establish a sense of geology serving the country, in order to benefit the promotion of ideological and political construction and curriculum reform in geological courses. %K 课程思政, %K 思政元素, %K 立德树人, %K 地质报国, %K 古生物地史学
