The prevalence of type 2 diabetes is on the rise, leading to an increase in associated complications over time. In particular, the chronic complications caused by type 2 diabetes have a certain impact on people’s health, psychology and economy. Recent studies have highlighted the impact of lipid metabolism on the development and progression of diabetes-related complications. Given that the ApoB/A-1 ratio can serve as a valuable indicator for assessing metabolic disorders and evaluating chronic complications in patients with diabetes. This review provides an overview of relevant research concerning the role of ApoB/A-1 ratio in vascular complications of type 2 diabetes.
