The issue of life and death is the eternal topic that human beings pursue, and it is not an issue that has just begun to be paid attention to today. As early as the Spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period thousands of years ago, various schools of thought began to explore life and death. The pre-Qin Confucianism, their representatives Confucius, and Mencius, put forward the concept of life and death of rebirth, knowing fate and peace, which constitutes a part of the traditional Chinese concept of life and death. The pre-Qin Taoists, their representatives Laozi and Zhuangzi, put forward the thoughts of natural Tao, death without death, life and death without birth and death, and told people their profound understanding of life and death. Based on Laozi’s classic work “Dao De Jing”, this article seeks Laozi’s view of life and death—the nature of life, the restoration of life to the root, and death without death. %K 老子,《道德经》,生死观
