In the past decade, translanguaging as a new concept of language education has become an emerging research field in domestic and international applied linguistics. The explorations of translanguaging research in language teaching, multilingual education, language and identity, and cross- disciplinary linguistic research are endless, which are of great significance to the linguistic research in cross-disciplinary fields. In this paper, with the help of CiteSpace literature visualisation tool, using China National Knowledge Infrastructure as the core collection as the data source, the bibliometric analysis method is used to visualise and analyse 113 research papers related to translanguaging from 2014 to 2023, and to present the development trend of translanguaging research in both domestic and international contexts. This study aims to sort out the knowledge content of translanguaging research for scholars at home, summarizing the scope and methodology of translanguaging practice research by studying theoretical translanguaging and practical translanguaging, put forward a new paradigm of foreign language research under the perspective of translanguaging and its implications for foreign language education in China, and provide perspectives and thoughts on the research of translanguaging practice and foreign language education in China.
