The four-sphere confidence, including confidence in culture and theory, emerged in the celebration of the Communist Party of China (CPC)’s 95th anniversary. The spread of China culture to the outside world has become a hot topic now. China’s outstanding literary works are an important part of cultural communication, which requires us to translate literary works, especially the expression of words. A Dream in the Red Mansions, the first of its kind in Four Great Classical Novels, China, has occupied a high position in the literary world of China since its publication, which contains extremely high literary value, medical value and dietotherapy value. Studies on A Dream in the Red Mansions are not uncommon. At present, the English versions of A Dream in the Red Mansions translated by Yang Xianyi and Dai Naidie and the English versions translated by Hawkes and Minford are the most widely studied in the world. The English translation of A Dream in the Red Mansions has greatly promoted the spread of China culture. This paper, from the perspective of a brand-new translation theory of Transknowletology, analyzes the contents of two English versions (excerpts) of A Dream in the Red Mansions based on the principles of truth, goodness and beauty, and tries to provide new ideas for the translation of other similar literary works in terms of unique words and expressions.
