Professional courses are the main force of ideological and political education in universities, and are an important carrier of “San Quan” education. At present, ideological and political education in courses has been widely carried out in domestic universities and included in the curriculum outline as a “requirement for education”. However, there is still a lack of deep integration between ideological and political education and professional content, and there is a phenomenon of “hardly pieced together”, which makes it difficult to play a synergistic role. In this paper, taking the professional course of water pollution control engineering as an example, the course objectives can be achieved by organizing the professional knowledge points of each chapter of the course and integrating ideological and political elements.
