This study aims to explore the phenomenon of cultural differentials in the process of translation of canonical books and its impact on cross-cultural communication. This paper elaborates the definition of cultural differentials and its causes, including differences in language, values and symbols; it also analyzes the specific effects of cultural differentials on the translation of canonical books, including the difficulties in language transformation, the conflict of values and the choice of translation strategies. On this basis, this article discusses the positive and negative impacts of cultural differentials on cross-cultural communication. The paper proposes strategies to cope with cultural differentials, including cultural connotation reproduction and conversion. The results of the study show that the challenges of cultural differentials can be weakened through in-depth research and rational application of translation strategies, thus promoting the translation of canonical books and cross-cultural communication. The research results of this paper can provide reference for the practice of translation of canonical books, promote the international spread of canonical books, enhance Chinese and foreign cultural exchanges and understanding, and then promote the depth and breadth of cross-cultural communication. %K 典籍外译,文化势差,跨文化传播
