This paper explores the significance, challenges, and recommendations associated with integrating Bunun Yao folk music into vocational college music teaching. By detailing the artistic characteristics and educational potential of Bunun Yao folk songs, the paper highlights the value of this music form in enhancing students’ understanding of musical diversity and cultural respect. It points out issues such as scarce resources and the lack of an educational system, and proposes solutions including resource integration, teacher training, and interdisciplinary integration to effectively address these issues and promote the incorporation of Bunun Yao folk music into modern music education.
