With the swift advancement of information technology, optical fiber communication, being an essential component of the contemporary communication domain, is indispensable for the teaching of communication majors. Nevertheless, in the face of this rapidly evolving technical field, phenomena such as the disconnect between theoretical teaching and practice as well as the dearth of practical experience of students exist in the teaching of optical fiber communication. Hence, the teaching reform of optical fiber communication is particularly crucial. This paper aims to explore the OptiSystem-based optical fiber communication teaching reform to improve the teaching quality and cultivate students’ practical ability and innovative thinking. This paper first analyzes the current situation and existing problems of optical fiber communication teaching, then expounds on the advantages and application of OptiSystem in optical fiber communication teaching, and finally puts forward the reform plan of optical fiber communication teaching based on OptiSystem, and evaluates its effect. %K 光纤通信,OptiSystem,教学改革,实践能力,创新思维
