%X 一词多义现象是语言学研究中一个重要领域。目前对于普通英语中的一词多义的研究已经取得了一些成果,但对商务英语中的一词多义鲜有研究。本文基于《经济学人》杂志,采用定性分析的研究方法,从原型范畴理论视角探讨商务英语词义的演变过程。研究发现,将隐喻和转喻作为语义延申的认知机制可以通过原型范畴理论和意义链来推断商务英语中专业词汇的特定含义。本研究加深了我们对商务英语词汇的认识。
Polysemy is an important area of linguistic research. At present, the research on polysemy in general English has made some achievements, but there is little research on polysemy in business English. Based on the Economist, this paper uses the research method of qualitative analysis to explore the evolution of business English word meaning from the perspective of prototype theory. It is found that metaphor and metonymy as cognitive mechanisms of semantic extension can be used to infer specific meanings of professional words in business English through prototype theory and meaning chain. This study deepens our understanding of business English lexis.
