Study on the Cultural Connotation and Translation Strategy of “Face” from the Perspective of Intercultural Communication—Taking the Movie “Saving Face” as an Example %A 李佳琪 %J Chinese Traditional Culture %P 413-419 %@ 2332-6824 %D 2024 %I Hans Publishing %R 10.12677/cnc.2024.123066 %X “脸面”是各种不同文化所代表的社会中普遍存在的现象,同时也是人际交往中具备独特功能的运作体系,而中国人的脸面同西方各国的面子文化有很大不同,因此在中西方跨文化交际中,如何就面子问题进行交际成了一大课题。翻译作为语言、文化的交流工具,在跨文化交际领域大有可为。本文首先分析了中国人的“脸面”的特征,其次对比了中西方面子的文化内涵差异,最后研究“脸面”的翻译策略,希望通过文化现象的翻译来实现中西方跨文化交际。
“Face” is a common phenomenon in the societies represented by different cultures, and it is also an operational system with unique functions in interpersonal communication. The Chinese Face is very different from the Face in Western culture, so how to communicate about Face has become a major issue in cross-cultural communication between China and the West. Translation, as a communication tool of language and culture, has great potential in the field of cross-cultural communication. This paper firstly analyzes the characteristics of Chinese “Face”, then compares the differences in the cultural connotation of Face between China and the West, and finally studies the translation strategy of “Face”, hoping to realize the cross-cultural communication between China and the West through the translation of cultural phenomena. %K 跨文化交际,“脸面”文化,电影《面子》,翻译策略
