The period from 1912 to 1949 was an important stage in the development of Chinese films. As an important means of film propaganda, the visual art style of film posters not only reflects the aesthetic concept at that time, but also witnesses the evolution of film culture. The purpose of this study is to explore the visual art characteristics, style evolution and cultural connotation of movie posters during this period of time.
