In the process of deeply exploring the interaction and profound impact of legal thought and Confucian ethical thought in Chinese society, through a detailed comparative analysis of the works of Zeng Yi and Qu Tongzu, the study found that despite differences in theoretical frameworks and details of views between the two scholars. Their research highlighted the deep connection and mutual penetration between Chinese legal thought and Confucian ethical thought. This connection is not only reflected in the moralization tendency of the law and the “people-oriented” legal governance concept but also in the profound impact of Confucian ethics on social governance and interpersonal relationships. The research not only provides a new perspective for understanding traditional Chinese legal culture but also offers a theoretical basis and historical experience for deepening the discussion on the current legal and moral construction in China. Therefore, it emphasizes the need to comprehensively consider the combined effect of legal thought and Confucian ethical thought in the study of legal and ethical issues in Chinese society, and its implications for the construction of a legal society in contemporary China.
