The network micro-drama “Escape from the British Museum” tells the story of the human-shaped Chinese winding small-sized jade pot escaping from the British Museum and returning to its homeland with the assistance of journalists to bring home letters for those cultural relics that cannot return home. This film reconstructs the media memory through vivid story expression and digital communication, and makes people have a strong empathy response to historical and cultural issues such as the return of overseas cultural relics. This paper elaborates on the new strategies and cultural significance of the spread of the play and analyzes the new opportunities of digital communication for the spread of Chinese cultural relics, including innovating the form of communication and triggering empathy communication with the help of multiple narratives.
