This paper explores the cultural connotations of the color white in English and Chinese languages, as well as the corresponding translation strategies. White, as a color widely present in different cultures, carries rich meanings and symbolic significance. By analyzing the vocabulary, phrases, and idioms related to white in English and Chinese, this study examines the similarities and differences in cultural meanings of white in both languages. Through an in-depth study of the cultural background and linguistic characteristics of English and Chinese, this paper proposes effective translation strategies to accurately convey the cultural connotations of white in cross-cultural communication.
