In ethics, “happiness” has always been regarded as one of the most important pursuits. Different theorists and thinkers have different understandings and definitions of happiness, and Bentham’s utilitarian view of happiness is one of the most influential among them. This article aims to explore the theoretical origin, basic content, and reflection on Bentham’s utilitarian view of happiness in modern society.
