When people believe in places and participate in the creation of places, the places where they land have the “spirit of place”, and the spirit of such a place is not only “nostalgia”, but also the continuous endeavour for the construction of hometowns and sustainable development. A place is not an abstract place, but a space for concrete things, and the wholeness of a place does not belong to the abstract category of spatial relationship, structural mechanism and system. The spirit of place can only be given through human activity, human creativity and free participation and an understanding of human nature. Naturally occurring settlements and planned towns are places where people interact with them, and the spirit of their habitats influences their choice of places and activities. The spirit of place guides the architectural design of the spirit of place as well as the architectural design of rural culture as a starting point for design. Through the analysis and exploration of the spirit of local architecture, the author analyzes the relationship between place and local cultural construction from the surface to the inside, from shallow to deep, providing reference plans for future humanistic architectural design, exploring “humanized” spaces, and hoping that the practical results can provide certain reference value and demonstration role for the reuse of place spirit and culture.
