Inkstone is one of the “Four Treasures of a Scholar’s Room” and has been familiar and loved by people since ancient times. As a tool and carrier for cultural transmission, the cultural charm and value of inkstone are worth further exploration. The inkstone blends seamlessly with natural manpower, possessing spiritual character and economic value; the traditional concept of goodness and beauty in inkstones embodies aesthetic significance and humanistic value; inkstone has a wide reputation throughout time and space, showcasing cultural charm and artistic value; the emotional connection between inkstones promotes communication and fosters the diplomatic value of communicative functions. In the new era, the development of inkstones should actively seek changes in response to demand, expand the market value of intangible cultural heritage functions, and continue to carry forward this traditional cultural treasure.
