The Korean conjunction “-?” is one of the most frequently used connectives. However, it carries multiple meanings and its specific translation into Chinese can vary depending on the context. As a result, Chinese learners of Korean face various challenges when trying to understand the usage of “-?”. While linguists from both China and South Korea have studied compound sentences, the re-search on corresponding expressions between the two languages is still relatively weak. Investiga-tions reveal that the Korean coordinating conjunction “-?” in compound sentences corresponds not only to Chinese coordinating compound sentences, with specific equivalents such as “也” (also), “又” (also), “即/又...又” (both...and), “逗号” (comma), “分号” (semicolon), or “顿号” (pause); but also to Chinese progressive compound sentences, with specific equivalents like “并且” (and), “而且” (and), or “还” (also). %K -?,关联词,并列,并列复合句
