Passive constructions are commonly found in both English and Chinese languages, and their translation poses a major challenge. English and Chinese belong to different language families and have been nurtured by different socio-cultural environments. As a result, there are various differences in sentence structures, grammar features, and other aspects. When translating Chinese passive constructions, there is a tendency to correspond them with English passive sentence patterns, often resulting in errors. Taking Goldblatt’s translation of Rickshaw Boy as an example, this study clarifies the importance of correctly understanding and translating passive sentences in translation. Moreover, through a comparison and analysis of passive structures in English and Chinese, it summarizes the translation strategies adopted for different types of Chinese passive sentences in the hope of providing guidance for improving the translation quality of literary works. %K 被动句,英汉对比,《骆驼祥子》
