Eco-translatology integrating translation and ecology regards translation process as translator’s adaption and selection. From the perspective of eco-translatolgoy, this paper that regards the English version of To Live as research object first analyzes the translational eco-environment which the translator adapts himself to from the aspects of the original text, the translation and the competence of the translator. Then it analyzes translator’s selection from the linguistic dimension, cultural dimension and communicative dimension. From the linguistic dimension, the translator uses simple words to retain plain narrative style of the original text; from the cultural dimension, the translator literally translates cultural-specific expressions into English; from the communicative dimension, the translator conveys the communicative intension of the original author to readers. The English version of To Live adapts to its translational eco-environment to the greatest extent.
