“浅V一下” is a popular construction that has recently appeared frequently on online social platforms, and is now widely used in people’s daily communication. It consists of the adverb “浅”, the verb “V”, the numeral “一” and the quantifier “下”, and its meaning is “subjective weakening of a verb or degree”. Its meaning is “the subjective weakening of the quantity or degree of a verb”, and it conveys the pragmatic function of “relaxing, lively tone, and bringing the speaker closer to the speaker”. The motivation for the formation of “浅V一下” consists of four factors: metrical effect, sub-jectivization, online linguistic environment and the promotion of related constructions.
