Abdelaziz %A Hamed Mahmoud Hamed Ibrahim %J Optics and Photonics Journal %P 110-115 %@ 2160-889X %D 2011 %I Scientific Research Publishing %R 10.4236/opj.2011.13019 %X Atomic structure data and effective collision strengths from literature for 1s<sup>2</sup> 2s<sup>2</sup> 2p<sup>6</sup> 3s<sup>2</sup> 3p<sup>6</sup>3d<sup>10</sup> and 34 fine-structure levels contained in the configurations 1s<sup>2</sup> 2s<sup>2</sup> 2p<sup>6</sup> 3s<sup>2</sup> 3p<sup>6</sup>3d<sup>9</sup> 4l (l = s, p, d) for the nickel-like Au ion are used in the determination of the reduced population for these levels over a wide range of electron densities and at various electron plasma temperatures.
